Portable Pet Groomers adds second vehicle to meet increasing demand; Pet owners seek convenience of mobile grooming

Despite gas prices being at an all-time high, Portable Pet Groomers, a mobile grooming service for dogs and cats in Milwaukee, Racine and Waukesha counties, has expanded its service to accommodate the growing number of pet owners seeking a stress-free, convenient grooming experience. The company’s second van is now fully operational, open for appointments six days a week from morning through early evening.

"We added another vehicle in response to steadily increasing demand from pet owners seeking the convenience of mobile grooming," said Shelley Koenings, owner. "As word continues to spread about this relatively new grooming option for our area, we want to be able to accommodate more customers on a timely basis. Investing in a second van gives us increased capacity to do just that."

In addition to valuing the convenience of mobile grooming, Koenings also notes that extremely high gas prices are prompting people to seek out a variety of mobile services. "By using Portable Pet Groomers, pet owners save themselves a trip to and from the salon - twice - because they don't have to drop off their companions and then pick them up several hours later," she said.

Despite high gas prices, Koenings says, the business is not raising its prices. Customers pay a premium for the convenience; however, Koenings said, it hasn't been increased.

"We are just trying to make our routes more efficient," she explained.

Portable Pet Groomers caters to dogs of all ages and breeds, as well as cats. In addition to the traditional grooming services, such as baths, haircuts, ear cleaning and nail clipping, Portable Pet Groomers also offers de-shedding treatments and blueberry facial massages.
